Last weekend my family and I had the pleasure of staycationing at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. This little gem is about 20 minutes from our house, but you literally feel like you left the state as soon as you arrive as it is nestled back in to the desert off the main road. We were greeted with the cutest gift baskets in each of our adjoining rooms--one for the kids filled with stuffed horses, candy, and a desert Dr. Seuss book, while ours had cute cactus shot glasses, a bottle of wine, and a cute desert tote!
Saturday morning started off with breakfast in bed, which in my opinion is the only way to start the weekend!!! Such a fun way to spend time together.
After breakfast we headed down for a cake pop class with one of Sheraton's pastry chefs! The kids had a blast learning how to make cake pops. They literally each were handed a block of cake and got to start by crumbling it, learning how much frosting to add to the mix, putting the sticks in, and then decorating it!!!
After the cake pop class the kids were dying to get back to the pool so that is where we headed. We didn't even have to go far from the pool when they got hungry because the restaurant right there had an AMAZING menu!!! I don't think I have ever ate so much in my life than I did this weekend!!!

After lunch we took the kids to the resort's kids camp where we let the kids play for a few hours while Mark and I slipped away to the Aji Spa. We both had incredible massages, and got to enjoy a little quiet time before heading back to get the kids. The kids played in the jump houses, competed in some games put on by the staff, and made jewelry. Those 2 hours flew by and then it seemed were back at the pool listening to the live band and sipping on piรฑa coladas till it was time to go up and get ready for diner.
Before dinner we stopped at the bar in the lobby for a quick cocktail where I had the tastiest drink complete with an edible flower. Dinner was phenomenal, and we even had a fun little chat with the head chef himself. After dinner we put the kids to bed in their own room that adjoined to ours so we could still watch a movie and enjoy a bottle of wine! *The kids actually had all already fallen asleep at the restaurant they were so exhausted from the day lol!!!! Well that is it for our first day, but I will be sharing day two later this week!!! In the mean time head over to Sheraton Grand's website to check out their 4th of July Summer Specials-- you won't regret it!
