Brooke was one of my "destination" brides that past fall being that she lived in Tucson so we couldn't meet in person all the time. Every wedding I do I get the same question asked as the big day arises about what to include in the welcome basket/bag. I thought I would put together my ideal welcome gift for an Arizona bride, but it can be easily adjusted for other states. First you need to pick what type of item you will be filling--mine is a sturdy bag over a basket just because it is easier to travel back home with. I always tell my couples to make a list of some of their favorites, and then include a couple local items unique to Arizona.

This past weekend my husband and I left the kiddos at my in-laws and we went and stayed the weekend at The Saguaro Resort to celebrate our anniversary. With our anniversary being in prime wedding season there is never enough time to leave for a lengthy period so the weekend stay-cation worked perfect! After all tons of people vacation in AZ right now for the weather, and all we wanted to do was relax poolside and eat good food in peace. The atmosphere at The Saguaro makes you feel like your in Palm Springs. The colors everywhere and the yummy cocktails made lounging a dream.

When Mindi Verdi from Verdi Photography reached out to me about running their daughters destination wedding AZ I literally squealed with excitement! I was so honored that they picked me since they too are in the business, and I was obsessed with the atmosphere they wanted to create! Since 90% of the guests were not going to be from Arizona they wanted to have a Modern Desert Spanish feel, and the brides parents worked their behinds off to make it as authentic as possible even driving down to Mexico for some of the decor items. The actual set up for this wedding is probably one of my most LEAST favorite ever... the venue was 2 hours outside of the city and my rental truck was 5.5 hours LATE!!!
