Every wedding I do I get the same question asked as the big day arises about what to include in the welcome basket/bag. I thought I would put together my ideal welcome gift for an Arizona bride, but it can be easily adjusted for other states. First you need to pick what type of item you will be filling--mine is a sturdy bag over a basket just because it is easier to travel back home with. I always tell my couples to make a list of some of their favorites, and then include a couple local items unique to Arizona.

It's not the norm that I get asked to turn someone's home in to a full blown night club for their birthday party, but boy was it FUN!!!! The client knew he wanted a logo that said K CLUB so we took that idea and ran with it. We had that logo everywhere from the invites to ice sculptures. Every guest there knew they were at K Club. I had 2 family room style retro modern furniture groupings set up in the lounge area. Every end table, coffee table, and high boy was a rectangle or square acrylic that was up-lit in blue or green. I had giant glowing blue and green spheres anchored in the pool that looked like they were just floating. There was a custom acrylic bar that was brought in with a giant K CLUB logo on the front that also was lit up in blue.

This past weekend my husband and I left the kiddos at my in-laws and we went and stayed the weekend at The Saguaro Resort to celebrate our anniversary. With our anniversary being in prime wedding season there is never enough time to leave for a lengthy period so the weekend stay-cation worked perfect! After all tons of people vacation in AZ right now for the weather, and all we wanted to do was relax poolside and eat good food in peace. The atmosphere at The Saguaro makes you feel like your in Palm Springs. The colors everywhere and the yummy cocktails made lounging a dream.

I actually don't even know how I have been married 11 years let alone have 3 kids... But here we are. I always think back to the newly wed stage (probably because of my job) and get a little envious of those just starting out. It was so care free back then and you ALWAYS had date nights!!! That is one of the BIGGEST reasons I loved this photo shoot--I wanted to capture what life is like now. I want to look back 30 years from now, and see that we were still in love. That even with the kids running around, working like crazy, taking the kids to all their activities we still put each other 1st, and were happy.

Stefanie was beyond adorable and had tons of ideas. She called me maybe 6 weeks prior to her wedding wanting to know if I would simply meet with her for a couple hours and tell her if what she had done already worked and if she had forgotten anything. I had never been asked this before and was intrigued so we scheduled it! I told her every piece of info I needed her to bring to make this meeting efficient and worth both of our time. I went through her layouts, her floral estimate, her timeline she had started, and a couple other odds and ends--and we ROCKED it!!!
