Alaina and Keith came to me in the middle of their wedding planning. They are just one of those couples you fall in love with instantly so it was fun to dive head in and help them add all the special details that would make the day theirs! I think she was the 1st bride that I did the bold black and white stripe with 3 years ago--which has now spun out of control and I seem to have 1 or 2 every year since! Alaina was breath taking, and calm as ever on her wedding day.

Lately I have had quite a few brides who were undecided about a "First look" so I had Radiant Photography share with us why they love them so much! My husband and I actually did NOT have one 10 years ago, but I would have to say if I were to do it all over again I probably would...
I’ve heard it many times before…. “WHAT?! You’re going to see each other before the wedding?! You’re going to put a curse on your marriage!” Well actually, the reason behind the custom of not seeing each other before the ceremony on your wedding has less to do with superstitions and more to do with the realities of arranged marriages. The reason a groom is not to see his bride before the wedding…. is to make sure he doesn’t run away. Seriously. Many of the traditions we have in fact, are there for the sole purpose of keeping a groom planted in place just long enough to get a firm commitment out of him to a girl he’s never met before. Flowers… they hide bad smelling brides very well. The veil… he doesn’t lift it until he’s promised his life away, remember? And of course the whole “not seeing each other before hand thing”. Keep your flowers and your veil traditions, I’m fine with those and they both add a little something to the wedding. The hiding away from one another however, is a tradition I’d be happy to see go.

I often get asked if I have any good ideas for my brides before they start their registries... The answer is YES because I am constantly thinking in my head "Why couldn't that have been out 10.5 years ago when I was doing my registry?" My husband and I had quite a large wedding guest list so we were fortunate enough to get quite a bit to start us off on our married journey, however 10 years later I would have done things a little differently!!!

Every year there are always a few weddings where the bride and her family turn into friends--this was one of them! I fell in love with Denae and her family during our 13 month planning process. She knew from the beginning that she wanted a modern romantic feel with a little glam, and never wavered from her decision. I don't get the opportunity to do a lot of indoor ceremonies because we have such nice weather most of the year, but I fell in love with the ambiance we created. The blank white canvas at Soho 63 was so easy to work with-we lined the aisle with huge clear vases filled with candles along with the whole white back drop for the ceremony was a wall filled with votives mounted to it.

When Mindi Verdi from Verdi Photography reached out to me about running their daughters destination wedding AZ I literally squealed with excitement! I was so honored that they picked me since they too are in the business, and I was obsessed with the atmosphere they wanted to create! Since 90% of the guests were not going to be from Arizona they wanted to have a Modern Desert Spanish feel, and the brides parents worked their behinds off to make it as authentic as possible even driving down to Mexico for some of the decor items. The actual set up for this wedding is probably one of my most LEAST favorite ever... the venue was 2 hours outside of the city and my rental truck was 5.5 hours LATE!!!
